Preschool Graduation and Field Trips

Well it's that time of the year...the school year is coming to an end. Field trips, field day, graduations, and end of the year parties! Caleb had a fun filled field trip to LBL (Land Between the Lakes). I went with him to assist with herding the children. There were 4 Kindergarten classes with about 25 kids each that went on the trip. Luckily they stayed divided into groups to make it easier. They got to visit the Nature Center, which has wild animals out in the back like coyotes, owls, a bald eagle, a big fat possum, bobcats, deer, and some very noisy gobbling turkeys. The kids had a great time looking at all of the animals. Caleb said his favorite was the bald eagle. He was a handsome fella. Then we had a picnic before tackling our next activity.

They went down to the lake side for a biology lesson with a couple of the wildlife biologists. They got nets to dip into the lake and would bring the critters they found up to the biologists for identification. The bugs and critters were picked out of the net by the braver kids or the biologists and put in a basin for everyone to see. They found several nymphs (damselfly and dragonfly babies), water beetles, tadpoles, crayfish, and water spiders. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a lot of fun.

Cody had Preschool Graduation tonight. He will still be in Preschool next year, but he graduated from 3 year old (two days a week) to 4 year old (five days a week). He loves preschool and will enjoy being there more next school year.

They had a cute little program with singing and dancing. They showed off things they have learned this year, like shapes and counting.

We took home artwork and a wonderful book with activities and pictures from the school year.

Little bit of goofing off with Daddy and Max.
Cody hopped in the dryer to help me get the last sock.

Hard to believe Caleb's first year of school is already ending! Just seems like he had his first day! Looks like you all had fun! Wish I could go on a cool field trip like that! Hope you made sure Cody learned that playing in the dryer is a no-no!!!

They are really enjoying the trip.... Student City also provides spring break packages to students to have a great time together.
