Finally Closed on our New House!!!

We closed on our new house this past Monday! YAY!!! We still have yet to close on the house we are selling because of difficulites with our buyer pushing back the closing date. But hopefully that will be done the beginning of September. We still won't be able to move for a couple of weeks. We are living among a maze of boxes at the moment. I made the mistake of buying a brownie mix at the grocery this weekend. Guess what...brownie pan and anything that could possibly be used as a brownie pan are packed up. The boys were so upset. I'm going to have to go buy one of those disposable pans or borrow from a friend.

The past several days we have all been sick with respiratory crud. Ben got it really bad and was down for several days. I even had to sleep on the couch one night this weekend because of him coughing and blowing his nose all night. Poor thing couldn't sleep because his head would get so stopped up. I tried to keep my distance, so I wouldn't get it. (I was just sick a couple of weeks ago) Made the boys wash hands often, drink lots of OJ, and be careful not to share glasses or food. Yesterday I started sneezing and sniffling too. Cody has had good days, then bad days. He has had a bad cough and runny nose since last week. I think he is getting better, then daycare calls and says he is laying around and has a low-grade fever. I had to unpack a couple of bathroom supply boxes with medications and thermometers this weekend. I guess it is a good thing that we aren't moving this coming weekend because Ben was too sick this past weekend to pack up the garage and his workshop. So far Caleb has only had a stopped up nose. Last night he was cuddled up under a blanket with me and Cody. Ben came in the room and said, "Oooh Caleb you are sitting in a dangerous spot." Caleb looked confused and Ben pointed at us and said, "Sick and sicker." Caleb quickly jumped up.

Daddy's 35th Birthday and Tae Kwon Do

Friday was Ben's 35th Birthday! As Kevin said, "Man he's getting old!" Yeah, we all are. Ben continues to remind me on a frequent basis that I am still older than he is :)
We had a good time for his birthday. Kelly and Mark got a baby sitter that watched their kids and ours. We went out to eat at a local restaurant with an outside patio. It was a perfect evening to be outside. Afterwards we walked downtown and on the riverfront.

Mom and Bill invited us to their campsite on the lake Saturday night. We didn't spend the night, but we spent the evening there. Although it was hot and muggy, the boys had a blast swimming in the lake. It was beautiful and relaxing. Just what we needed after a stressful week dealing with issues on selling our house.

Cody kept finding little tiny frogs. He wanted to take them home with us.

Bill and Ben enjoying the view of the lake.

Caleb's belt test to graduate from red belt white stripe to red belt black stripe was this past Saturday.
This video is of their Free Form Kama routine. They each had to develop their own steps.

New School, New House

Caleb's first day of school :) Second grade in a new school. Tell you more about that later.

Here is a cute picture of Caleb and Cody wrestling. Check out Caleb's sweet face and Cody's "I'm going to take you down" look. This totally defines their personalities to the tee.

We have been extremely busy the past few weeks. We sold our house-closing on the 17th of August. Yay! Finally!!! Once that happened, we began a whirlwind house search. We have been looking at houses since last October when we put our house for sale by owner. But once we sold (yes we did it for sale by owner), we had a little over a month to find one to move into or else start looking for rentals. Thankfully, when we were beginning to think we would end up with the latter, we found "the house". It is just what we have been looking for...just not in the area that we had been looking.

Here it is! We will be moving to a different county, but it is still close enough to get to work in 15-20 minutes. We should be able to move in the end of August. It is much bigger than our current house and has lots of great space for the boys. They can each have their own bedroom and there is a basement that is partially finished. We plan to use it as a gameroom for the boys/Daddy.

The Kitchen has been totally remodeled in the past couple of years with all new appliances. I love it!!
Another space for me :) My sunroom!

The boys are way excited about the pool. Of course they are little fish and spent all summer swimming at camp.

Check out the huge yard! That is Ben way down the hill. There is a little creek running through the side of the property and we own all the way to the far trees Ben is walking towards. Behind the house is wooded. We don't own it, but it will be used nevertheless.
Cody has been such a big helper. He loves to help us pack and tape up the boxes. He is showing us a cool dance move while helping Daddy pack.
