I went as a witch, Ben was a redneck, Cody a skeleton, and Caleb a werewolf. I think it would be fun if we dressed together as a family theme next year. But that is so hard to do with 2 strong willed little boys, who get their mind set on something and nothing will change it.
Oh no! Cody is stuck in a giant spider web!
Fred and Bubba Joe shooting the bull. They certainly don't look like the types to hang out with each other, but opposites attract.
We had a very busy Halloween weekend. Our church had a trunk-or-treat Saturday afternoon. The kids got to go bobbing for apples. Cody would bob with his feet in the air, teetering on the edge of the bucket trying to sink his teeth into the apple or grab it by the stem.
Victory! He looked like a drowned rat by the time he was done. This little guy is very persistent.
That night we went to a couple of other churches to trunk-or-treat safely with the Petitts. Then Sunday, actual Halloween, we trick or treated on Jefferson Street (downtown Paducah). It was wall to wall kids, teenagers, and parents lined up at every house and down the street. Christy and I were a bit nervous that we would lose track of the boys. We ended up meeting up with Kelly Atnip and her clan, so we had an extra set of adult eyes watching the kiddos. Jefferson St. goes all out for Halloween. Houses are decorated to the tee, the candy distributors are dressed in costume, some houses have games to play, haunted houses to go through, themes like Peter Pan. It was cool to see the Halloween spirit in that neighborhood.
